About the project

Murmurations is an installation made by 200 children at Phoenix School, a school for young people with autism. Over the course of two weeks, each child made an invention in theur Art & Design or Design & Technology lesson – an object, bird, fish or other – that could become part of the aerial installation. A group of the children brought the 200 pieces together to make a joyful hanging installation, which represents every voice in the school.

Phoenix School supports young people with autism, and art & design is at the heart of their approach.
