THE POWER OF TREES

Treehouse at Kew Gardens

The Power of Trees

The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and Museum of Architecture comissioned MATT+FIONA with Clarendon School to design a ‘The Power of Trees’ treehouse, part of the ‘Treehouses at Kew’ exhibition.

We are supporting Year Five pupils at Clarendon School to design a treehouse that reflects young people’s views on why trees are so important to their future. Their treehouse, along with 6 others designed by professional and internationally-renowned architects, will be open to the public from spring 2023.

“The ‘Power of the Trees’ treehouse project has been a wonderful chance to build on the skills the pupils have developed in Forest School activities, and to encourage creativity, imagination and design skills. The children have enjoyed working closely with MATT+FIONA to bring their ideas to life and they are extremely excited about their treehouse becoming a reality and being able to share it with the wider community.”
