Following 2016’s successful BUILD, Matt+Fiona are returning to the National Trust property to run FORM, a creative discovery of drawing, storytelling, mould making and casting for participants aged 8 to 14 as part of Sutton House’s School of Anarchy.
The output of the workshop will be a series of sculptural casts that form the prototypes for new ‘beacons’ that will bring intrigue and delight to the house in the colder, darker winter months.
Participants can take home and keep the imaginative casts they make in the summer workshop. These will then be fabricated in the autumn and brought to the house in December to be seen both by their creators and other children visiting.
Who We Are
MATT+FIONA is a collaborative venture between architect Matthew Springett and educator Fiona MacDonald, built on a long history of working together on architectural-based education initiatives. Through their initiatives they offer unique, hands-on, practical education programmes for children and young adults.
BUILD 2016 was the exciting first step of their work, and Made in Oakfield is their latest venture. MATT+FIONA projects happen in collaboration with a wide and wonderful network of professionals with complementary skill sets to support them in their work.
