About the project
We worked in collaboration with artsdepot, exploring the concept of ‘Learning Landscapes’ with three Barnet schools – Barnet Hill Academy, Deansbrook Junior School and Friern Barnet School. Through three workshops, the young people reimagined their school environments and explored the theme through play with large-scale, paper, sculptural forms.
The project culminated in a public exhibition of the young people’s work at the Apthorp gallery. Suspended from the ceiling and curated on the floor of the gallery, the playful paper pieces came alive as we moved through them. A selection of the paper sculptures returned to the schools to be displayed across their sites.
