Cardboard Dreams

with Compton Verney

About the project

“What if I built a house in the shape of my initials? What if a dog kennel looked like an Ancient Greek temple? Could you fit St Paul’s Cathedral inside the Great Pyramid at Giza?”

Towering Dreams, Extraordinary Architectural Drawings was an exhibition held at Compton Verney art gallery in Warwickshire from March until the end of August 2025. As part of the extended programming around the exhibition, visitors of all ages were invited to add their cardboard imaginings to a growing and changing participatory section of the exhibition inspired by the house, the work of John Soane and the exhibited works.

The exhibition was open for 150 days, allowing hundreds of people to add their cardboard dreams to the ever-evolving installation. This was one of two workshops that we ran inspired by the exhibition, with the other being a four-day cardboard build in the Adam Hall.
