About the project
One of two workshops inspired by the Soane exhibition – Towering Dreams, Extraordinary Architectural Drawings – we supported hundreds of children and their families to create a spectacular play space in the Adam Hall at Compton Verney. The workshop opened up the exhibition to a new younger audience, allowing younger children to bring their imaginations to life in an inspiring and unusual context.
The yellow colour palette was inspired by Soane’s technique of dying curtains with turmeric to create a golden light. Using reflective mirror card echoed Soane’s use of convex mirrors and mirror recesses, which he used to offer new angles within spaces.
