LEARN

Our Build projects are tangible demonstrations of how young people can make a positive contribution to shaping better places and shapes. But perhaps the most important outcome of this process is educational: transforming mindsets, and raising ambitions and aspirations.
We want to enable more young people to be confident about influencing and shaping their built environment.
We do this in two ways: building capacity through resources and training mainly for schools, colleges and universities, cultural collaborators and local authorities; and, in the longer term, creating meaningful pathways for young people’s future careers.
Our MATT+FIONA Learn programmes include:
- ‘Training the Trainer’: workshops and CPD sessions for teachers, youth workers and students, sharing the years of experience and knowledge we have acquired through developing the Build model.
- Extended Learning: lesson plans, resources and toolkits that enable teachers to deliver their own build projects independently, complementing ‘Training the Trainer’ workshops.
- Apprenticeships and Certification: creating longer-term pathways into the built environment, design and construction industries for those young people who discover their calling during a build project.
