12mm Plywood ‘Nodes’
To create an adaptable, modular system that would be easy for young architects to build with, no complex joinery was used in the structure. Instead, a specific set of ‘Nodes’ were developed with help from Tim Lucas at Price & Myers.
These nodes would easily screw into the 50x50mm timber in a variety of different configurations, which allowed us the required flexibility to build whatever the kids designed.
– Many thanks to the B-Made team at the Bartlett for their help and guidance with CNCing the nodes, and for the use of their CNC machine. Prototyping was done with the help of Joel Chappell at Oxford Brookes School of Architecture.
